House delays walking Epstein files bill to Senate – report

Jamie Dupree, a longtime congressional reporter, posted on social media Tuesday evening that “the House may not walk the Epstein Files bill over to the Senate until Wednesday.”

Not long after, Dupree added that the Senate had already adjourned for the day and would not reconvene until Wednesday morning. “So there will be no final action tonight on the Epstein Files bill,” he wrote. “The paperwork is still on the House side of the Capitol.”

Although the distance between the House and Senate chambers is short — something even the QAnon Shaman famously demonstrated — House leaders may have chosen to delay sending the Epstein Transparency Act to the Senate to avoid having Donald Trump sign the bill while the Saudi crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman, was visiting the White House.

As the legislation requiring the release of the Epstein files continued moving through Congress, Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump waited at the White House to receive the Saudi crown prince for an official dinner.

Photographs showed Trump and Melania greeting Mohammed bin Salman on Tuesday night. The first lady wore a green gown, possibly chosen to reflect the color of the Saudi flag.
