74% of US professionals expect AI to replace their jobs in the next 3 years, survey finds. 4 ways to future-proof your career

AI Impact on Jobs 2025: 74% Professionals Fear Role Disruption Within 3 Years – Survey

As artificial intelligence (AI) continues to evolve and integrate into every aspect of work life, a growing number of professionals are beginning to question their job security. A new survey has revealed a sobering reality—nearly 3 in 4 professionals believe their roles will be impacted by AI within the next three years.

🔍 AI Is Growing—And So Are Job Concerns

The survey was conducted by Blind, an anonymous professional community platform with over 5 million verified users across top global companies. Between June 9 and 22, 2025, the platform gathered responses from 3,510 professionals, primarily in the United States. But the findings echo a much larger, global anxiety about the rise of AI and automation.

✅ Key Findings:

  • 74% of respondents believe their job will be impacted by AI within 3 years.

  • Only 26% believe their jobs will remain secure even after full AI deployment.

  • The average estimated timeline for AI job replacement is 2.8 years.

  • 43% say some of their tasks have already been replaced or reduced by AI.

  • Companies like Visa (58%), Grab (54%), and Walmart (54%) report the highest early task replacement rates.

🧑‍💼 Experience Doesn’t Guarantee Security

Interestingly, professionals with 16+ years of experience are more concerned than their younger peers. They believe AI could replace their roles within just 2.3 years. In contrast, those with less than 2 years of experience estimate AI will take 3 years to impact them.

This shift in mindset shows that even senior-level roles—often thought to be safe—are no longer immune to the reach of AI automation.

🏢 How Top Companies Expect AI to Impact Jobs

The survey also revealed differences in AI job disruption expectations between companies:

Company Estimated Time to AI Job Disruption
Salesforce 2.3 years
Google 2.5 years
Microsoft 2.6 years
Amazon 2.9 years
Uber 3.2 years
PayPal 3.3 years

These variations show how rapidly different companies are deploying AI tools in their workflows.

🤖 How AI Is Already Changing the Workplace

AI isn’t just a looming threat—it’s already here, and many professionals are seeing changes first-hand:

  • 43%: Say some of their tasks have been reduced due to AI

  • 23%: Report growing concerns or reactive team discussions about AI adoption

  • 30%: Have not yet experienced any changes, but feel it’s coming soon

Top companies seeing early task reductions include:

  • Visa (58%)

  • Grab (54%)

  • Walmart (54%)

  • Adobe (46%)

  • Amazon (45%)

  • LinkedIn (44%)

📉 What Should Professionals Do?

Rather than panic, professionals must prepare:

✔️ Upskill:

Focus on uniquely human skills—creativity, emotional intelligence, strategy, and cross-domain thinking.

✔️ Learn AI Tools:

Understand the tools likely to replace or complement your role. Knowing how to use AI is now a vital career skill.

✔️ Adapt Fast:

Be willing to move into adjacent roles or industries. Agility will define survival in the AI age.

✔️ Build a Strong Network:

Your connections might open the door to new opportunities as roles shift.

📌 Conclusion: The AI Revolution Is Here—Are You Ready?

AI is no longer a distant idea. It’s here, and it’s transforming how we work. While the SBI Youth Fellowship and other programs prepare young minds to serve India’s rural communities, even corporate professionals must now prepare for a world where adaptability matters more than tenure.

As the average professional estimates just 2.8 years before AI impacts their job, now is the time to upskill, prepare, and future-proof your career.
